Editor’s Notes

Dear all,

Of all the English learning skills, writing is the most overwhelming. Honestly speaking, in a class of forty, there are only three or four creative writers, but what about the others? Students simply write just for the sake of writing because writing for them is always a monotonous task. Therefore, announcement of such kind of activities develop in them the spirit of ‘free writing’ as they have no fear of being marked on the language and writing style. It is ‘just writing.’

With a very delighted heart, I congratulate all the kids, their parents and our friends who have contributed to Our Own Kids’ quarterly e-magazine. My heartfelt thanks to our Consul General for such an inspiring message on the inaugural issue of our e-magazine. We all are grateful to him for the time and effort he took to share his thoughts with us. I’m sure that his message is going to work as an encouragement for all the kids.

Our first quarterly edition is dedicated to ‘creative writing’ and it’s a great surprise to see so many wonderfully written pieces of writing by our talented young writers.  Guys…keep this spirit up!

A best writing has also been selected out of the best. We’ll announce it and award it in our next Bhartiya Community cultural event! The ones who couldn’t submit, or couldn’t get selected this time, please be ready for the next time.

Our next edition will come out in September, and the theme for that is ‘My summer vacation’…you can write, draw, or create this theme in any art you are good at. If it is in any other art form, besides writing, please send a very short description about your work/illustration/art.

Every time we’ll give you a theme for the next edition, and all the interested artists can work on that. Your writings/paintings/illustrations will be selected and published on the website.

Without much ado, I wish everyone good luck. May your creative talent find its best expression.

Happy Reading!

With love,

Sheela
